David Dresner

David Dresner was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He attended Florida State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Journalism. He has worked as a performing musician, a baseball coach, an animal handler, a camera repairman, campaign assistant, photographer and news writer for an array of publications (The Famuan, The FSView, JazzTimes Magazine, Harp Magazine, and Miami’s Community Newspapers). Gina Gareri-Watkins

Gina Gareri-Watkins Gina Gareri-Watkins is a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Professional Writing program at Kennesaw State University.  Gina’s columns focus on life after 50 and doing time down south, although very few people outside of grad class have actually read them.  She has spent 27 years as a wife — and nearly 20 as a mother — with the recent addition of two dogs increasing caretaking issues exponentially.  Her work has yet to appear in more than 500 newspapers in the United States and abroad, but if the Sweet Potato Queens can do it, so can she.
